Platinum Rolex Masterpiece Day-Date Special Edition Model 18946
It was amazing when I searched for this watch on this forum I could hardly find any info or pictures of them. So I've decided to make this thread since it is one of my most favorite watches I've ever owned. The men's 18946 Rolex Special Edition Day-Date Masterpiece weighs in at a little over 250 grams and measures 39mm in diameter. Seeing the watch and holding it are two different things, as it's hard to contemplate the weight of this watch when just looking at a picture. It features a 31 Jewel Caliber 3155 movement which keeps superb time during normal wear. The 18946 Masterpiece only comes with a factory diamond bezel having 40 round diamonds weighing 2 carats. They're a bit under $100k new, and they are absolutely a stunning piece! Rolex also makes an 18956 model with 42 baguette diamonds, but costs an extra $50k. Picked up my project watch from my local "Rolex Spa"...wow, do they do nice work:She's got a brand new crystal, and a brand new 93150 Oyster on. I've never personally seen markers this clean and white before. The movement was completely serviced, and the case pressure tested - the watch is practically brand new again!

My first 'real' one...
I have always been fond of watches and mostly just bought what I thought looked good and didn't focus on quality. I'd like to change that. I'd like to buy my first good quality watch. I have owned a Tissot (old Rock Watch made of a solid piece of stone), a Skaagen branded with a Sharper Image label, a Kenneth Cole and a couple of Fossil watches. I have no idea who makes the clothing brand watches and my latest Fossil is a chronograph and the chronograph part of it has already broken after just 7 months wear. I'd like to find something that looks good and is of good quality as well. I have a few things in mind and I am open to suggestions.Needs:I'd like to keep the cost under $500.I want an automatic. My story whith the new Pam590 ...!!
I've read from other guys who had the same issue!!. Honestly I don't believe them till I had the same experience.Ok, last month I've contacted a Panerai US Boutique to order the new Pam590 (to be delivered to US address). Last week I got email from the same boutique telling me that this reference is exclusive to US market (Ok I know that) and they'll be able to sell it ONLY if it is accompanied by another Panerai watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.I think this is totally wrong marketing way!!. Why should I get something I don't need it while you'll give me the original item in full price. I immediately cancel the whole idea as I don¡¯t see or hear that any other brand did the same.IMHO, these bad marketing/selling ways brought the brand to the basement level!!!!.Forgive me but I¡¯ve a message to Panerai Management: Guys, are you suffering from the very drop-off your brand to force buyers to buy unneeded watch to get what they want??!!
