For 2013,?MB&F announces this new limited edition version of the Horological Machine No 5 (HM5) watch in 18k red gold. watches-dealer reviewed the MB&F HM5 watch here when it first became available in 2012. Houston, we have a fake (I think)
I found a relatively old DateJust on Craigs List, so I emailed the seller and asked how much he wanted for it. He responded "what is DateJust?" and then sent another email saying "if you mean the Rolex, $150".While I'd love to believe this is true, I have several bells going off in my head telling me its a fake, however I wanted to get a second opinion. I believe that anyone who asks for $150 for a Rolex is either inflicted with some kind of mental ailment or is selling a fake (most likely the latter).The thing that immediately caught my attention was the Cyclops, notice how the magnification seems to be 1.5x as opposed to the legitimate 2.5x, meaning that the guy who made this probably used a sticker rather than a glass magnifier as Rolex does. The band also appears to be a cheap imitation, however it could just be old.What do you guys think?EDIT: Just realized I have a typo in the title, its Houston, not Huston. Stainless steel in B&W
I was playing with some of my old picture yesterday and I made this BW. IMO monochrome picture bring a nice twist to watches. This one is my first real setup using layering. The challenge with these picture is light. Good black and white requires lots of lighting. There is still some flare that I didn't corrected in PS. With my new light setup, that should be fix for my next photo shoot.I've seen some great BW shots on this forum. Let see them!

World Travelling Hamilton
Mark's post regarding the Turner/World Traveller has prompted me to post an idea I've been kicking around the past 18 months.. Admittedly I stole the idea from another forum; but can safely say that it's not been done at the Hamilton Forum before....The idea is that we as a group send a Hamilton watch on a tour of the globe. At each stop the recipient will show the watch a good time; take it to visit local landmarks or events; take some pictures; post them here then send it to the next person.Even with the folk we have today the watch has the potential to see the US (duh), Canada, Deutschland, Japan, Australia, the Congo and South Africa. Depending on people's vacations who knows what this will extend to?So, in principle, what say you?Obviously we need to pin down a few rules. Who will provide the watch? Hi, all.I am potentially looking to buy a Blue Dial Sub from a local person on Craigslist. They are selling for $2,800. This seems very low for an authentic Rolex. Can someone opine on if this is a unrealistically low price? I was thinking it was either fake or low because the blue dial is not popular.I appreciate any feedback.
