Laco is one of those brands I'm surprised doesn't get more attention. One of the original manufacturers of Flieger watches during WWII, along with Stowa, Wempe, IWC and others, they have a long rich history in watch making. We had the luck of meeting a distant relative of one of the founders of the brand, who wrote us this great brand highlight recently, which I recommend you read for a thorough walkthrough of their story. These days, Laco is positioning themselves for a bit of a comeback with an ever growing line of watches, ranging from Flieger remakes to bauhaus styled vintage models, to tough-as-nails modern tactical pieces.The watch we're going to look at today is of the latter group, the Laco Atacama. Bond SMP running fast
I've had my SMP 2531.80 for going on 4 years and usually it runs great for about 7 or 8 months and then it starts running too slow or inconsistent from day to day. Mostly it just slows down to -8 or -12 seconds and then it's back to the Omega AD I got it from for readjustment and sealing. Now however it's been running +8 to +12 seconds a day and two months after the last readjustment I brought it back and asked that it be made to run within chronometer specs again. This AD has had this watch setup where it didn't gain or lose seconds for weeks on end so I feel pretty confident in their work. Anyhow, now that I've gotten it back again it's running about +14 to +16 seconds fast. I know the watch can be made to run great but I've had problems keeping it running great and I don't understand why. Is this something that I should have Omega in Switzerland take care of? Shouldn't I be able to expect the watch to run reasonably within chronometer specs for at least a few years before it

I believe most of us would not deny that one of the best parts of our hobby/passion is the first days after receiving a watch that you have patiently waited for...sometimes weeks, months, or even years.Yesterday I had the pleasure of wearing my new 5167 for the first time...outstanding is the first word that comes to mind!!
