Ulysse Nardin 243-55-7/62 wrist watches news:
I doubt I would part with the >$1000 cost of an original Piping Rock, so I snagged this reissue of the 1928 Yankees world championship model on eBay (BIN). Mechanical windup movement, nice shape, and only $260. The two most recent sales were $405 and $360, so I think I did alright. By the way, WTF Member Will Roseman has an original Yankees Piping Rock. seller photosI'll post my own photo in the June Arrival thread after I get the case cleaned up a bit.
Anyone have this watch to sell? I am looking for the one with the silver face and blue numbers. I want this watch bad!
I've got a Tag I'm thinking about buying from a friend of mine but would like to know a little more about it before I commit. I went to my local Tag dealer today but they are closed for the next two weeks for vacation! From what I've read online I think it's a early 90's 2000 series. My buddy said he bought it new about 20-25 years ago, but that was all he could remember. On the back of the case it has 973.006 R-2 and it has a 6 digit numerical serial code engraved in it (not the newer alpha-numerical code). It also 300/81 cast into one of the lugs.My main questions are what model is it, and whats the value...roughly??One other question...The battery was dead, and had been for some time, so I took it to my jeweler (not a Tag dealer) for a new battery. When he put the new battery in, the watch started skipping 5 seconds at a time. He told me that was usually what watches do when the battery is getting low, but this battery is brand new. It did this periodically for a few minutes but has
I am getting an itch to add a new piece to the collection. I currently own an early version B-1 (non-super quartz) with black dial. I am contemplating adding either another B-1 Superquartz or Airwolf with a blue dial (2009 model with stripe texture on dial, not the radial pattern). I think most people seem to prefer the B-1 over the Airwolf, but I like the Airwolf and think it would add something a little different to my collection since I already own a B-1. I am also possibly considering an Aerospace, but I think I like the chronograph buttons on the case of the B-1 and Airwolf. I also love the turbine case back on the B-1 and Airwolf. But, I don¡¯t own a titanium watch and the Aerospace is starting to grow on me. I am curious as to what the forum members would do in my situation. Thanks in advance for the contribution! Guy
