Many of you know my feelings about NATO straps - I have always avoided them like the plague. The risk of grit getting between the strap and the case back is not a risk I will willingly take. I have seen too many case backs damaged. My other problem putting a NATO on My 300 M is that the strap would block the view of the beautiful 8401 movement. But I do like the look of the Bond NATO on the 300 M. I even talked with Jim and the ATL Boutique about the OEM NATO but in the end, went a different route. Here is the result:The quality is quite good and I like the way it snugs up to the case between the lugs. And best of all, the price was about 1/10th of the OEM's.I'm tempted to order one for the Sigma 7 FOIS.
Hi All,Newbie here. I bought this about 14 years ago. I remember it was a Schumacher edition (the first I think) but not sure of the model. I had it restored a year ago by Stahl since they are local (no affiliation)..americaswatchmaker/Anyway, its basically perfect with a new OE Omega bracelet. They said it is fairly rare. Ok, cut to the chase. I have a brand new GMT and don't really need both watches. I literally just got the GMT and am wearing for a few days to make sure I like it before I do anything. I love the Omega but it is a PAI to keep the day, date, month correct.......so its always off. Plus I'm getting somewhat bored with it. Can you guys let me know what model it is and an approximate value? This isn't a thread to sell. I just want to know what I have. Also ready for the flames
Hey guys,I was wondering about the steel alloy that Panerai uses for their cases. I found that it is easier to scratch and different to polish than 316l from brands like Omega and Breitling, I have to adjust the polishing machine RPM in order to get the right finish.904l (Rolex) gives me the best results though.
Do you guys have any interesting plexi maintenance tips? I've always used Mother's Mag & Aluminium Polish and Meguiar's Headlight Protectant on plexi. I know many swear by PolyWatch or even toothpaste but the only real requirement is that it be a very fine abrasive. Heck even CapeCod clothes should work. I just use Mother's because it's cheapest and easier to find. The Meguiar's Proctectant is probably overkill but it's always worked well on my cars. What's worked for you?
