Some early advice please
Well, like many others before me, I thought it was time to finally register and post. I've had this Omega Seamaster itch for some years now and no amount of rubbing is making it go away. Curse those fancy watch boutiques that I always seem to pass when my wife is not looking The call of the Omega is irresistable.My tired old Quartz Tag is really showing it's age...all faded and scratched up but still working okay. I've been looking at this watch for 20 years now and almost feel guilty with the thought of retiring it to a lonely drawer somewhere......Alright, enough of this sentimental sludge.....I'm torn between the 2220.80 and the 2254.50 (if still available).A question I have was how many of you were confused on which watch size to go for..even after trying both on. I've always had a midsize watch but not sure if the fullsize is for me....I'm still 50/50 on this issue, driving the sales people crazy Another problem I have is our local prices here in Australia are exorbitant compare

Early 1940's Breitling pre navitimer?
I need some help identifying the model, movement and valuing this watch that I recently added to my collection. I believe everything except the crown and strap to be original but I'm not certain. The case is marked with 382109 on the back and Fond acier indxydable on the inside. The movement has the Breitling Stamp. Lord Elgin"DuPree" 23 Jewels 1958 -- Restored
I found this 1958 Lord Elgin DuPree needed some care and polish. The hands had some rust looking goo on them, good thing I was able to remove it and the gold/brass came back to life.

Hinky sweep second hand
The sweep second hand on my Constellation now likes to hesitate.At 3 or four spots it will pause for a second and then jump to catch up with itself. It is not rubbing against the dial or the other two hands. They move fine, and the watch seems to keep great time. But I have now removed it from my rotation.A watch repairman, when I asked him about it, basically said "Keep wearing it- if it ain't broke don't fix it".Is he right and it's okay to continue wearing on a regular basis? Or was he just brushing me off because he thought I was merely asking for his advice rather than actually submitting it for repair?I really want to start wearing it again, but not if it means running the risk of an irritation becoming a real repair problem.
