Ulysse Nardin 356-66-8/319 wrist watches news:
We are proud to be the first to announce a new collection of LEGO brand watches for adults. That's right, LEGO, which has had a large collection of kids watches for years, will soon launch a comprehensive collection of timepieces for men and women in November 2013. These are among the very few plastic watches we would wear. What is fun is that despite being sized (and styled) for adults (at least adults in terms of age), the LEGO watches for adults have as many fully swappable parts as the kids versions have.Officially, these timepieces are referred to as the LEGO Watch System because pieces such as the bracelet links and bezels can be interchanged with each other. The links for the bracelet can be arranged in a series of colors and styles, but we think most people will enjoy them in solid colors (as they come out of the box). Though, it is fun to play. I grew up with LEGO models so this watch collection is sort of a big deal. While inexpensive and cheeky, it is a fun reminder of somet

The spoils of another auction hunt! I don't think I did too bad, I might have overpaid for the Illinois though.First up is the Illinois. It's not running, and might be a Frankenstein, I dunno. It looks to be 20's-30's, the strap is old leather and could be period. There's some patina on the dial and some dirt on the movement, but overall it's not too bad for it's age, the gold seems to still be there.Next is a nice Elgin Rail Road Pocket watch. In terms of movement, it's one of the nicest Elgin's I've ever had!21 jewels, 5 adjustments, it's a very nice watch. It does need some work though, there's no back cover, crystal and it's missing the second hand, but the dial is still nice and crisp with no cracks, the gold is still very nice and shiney. This one doesn't seem to be working either, it's wound tight but not running. I think this would make a good project watch! I wish I knew what was wrong with it.So, what do you guys think?
Will the Orbitas that use a rocking motion to wind a watch work for watches that require either specific direction for winding? In other words, will it wind a watch that requires clockwise rotation and a watch that requires a counterclockwise motion? It seems that by rocking, it moves in both directions. Is it really as simple as it seems?
It's seems like forever since last years racing season ended but Formula One and IRL 2010 seasons start today...whew hoo! It's going to be a good day. Wearing my Jacques Lemans F1 Chronograph F5015B
