Invicta 6412 wrist watches news:
We've been rather popular this month, with watches-dealer giving away a $4,400 Maurice Lacroix Pontos S Chronograph watch. You have just a few more days to enter for a chance to win it (here) before time runs out.
I have moved from looking for a Yacht Master to a GMT Master given that I am an airline pilot and really enjoy the history or the GMT. I have looked at a few websites and see the differences but what is the price differences on the Pepsi vs Coke versions and has anyone seen any of the original either normal or executive (white face and engraved Pan Am) version up for sale? There is one recent model up on the forum for sale I am considering but really am torn between the Pepsi and coke colors. Could use any history and input about these and the different ref numbers and related costs.
Attachment 31372Attachment 31373Attachment 31374Can someone identify the name of the model of this Illinois wrist watch ? I have been unable to find one like it while surfing the net.The case is made by the Eligin Giant Case company. The serial number of the watch is 5098684.Thank you
First is a before and after picture of my Illinois, I found this one broken in an antique business. I had the radium burned dial refinished as the dial looked too bad and refinishing it was preferable to it's original state, I also had the movement overhauled and a new mainspring installed. The hands were left alone and the white gold filled case was polished as a final touch. It is not the best Illinois around but it is working and keeping time and doesn't look too bad.BeforeP1180855.jpgAfterP1330768.jpgMovementP1280705.jpgHere is my Rose gold Benrus which was found in a local flea market and has not yet been touched, except for a little case polish, it is working but only keeping so so time unfortunately. The dial doesn't look great, but it is original.P1130487.jpgHere is my Elgin that I have introduced already in another post.P1320209.JPGI will post more at a later time.
The rubber strap on my Sekonda is quite uncomfortable so I think this is the reason why I don't give it as much wrist time as it deserves. As a result I decided to buy a new strap for it as well as a tool for changing it myself.Attached is a picture of the strap I'm changing to. When I have completed the switch then I'll post new pics.
