Ulysse Nardin 266-66/623 wrist watches news:
Recently purchased a used Elgin watch that had listed dial window material type 138, anyone know what 138 means.TIA
I THINK that I MIGHT have found a manufacturer for the no-name trench watch cases that I just love ! ! !I see a lot of these no-name trench watch cases from the WWI period and I could NEVER understand why the manufacturer did NOT stamp their name on the case, I would have been proud to have put my name on these cases. It is a VERY high quality case that was VERY well made. The bezel and case back both snap VERY crisply into place, solid threads on the crown, good sleeves and a nice ridge for the crystals. These no-namers came in three different styles that I know exist and all were made of nickel.I came across an Elgin Trench Watch the other day from 1918 that looked VERY familiar! BUT, the case was NOT a no-namer, it was a WADSWORTH and it was made of Sterling Silver, NOT nickel.I have taken several pictures of the cases side by side and it APPEARS to me that this COULD be a match! Unfortunately the lugs on the sterling Wadsworth have been broken off but the placement of the lugs look
I was in the ap boutique today and I noticed that the ROO navy looked slightly different. I asked the sales assistant and he confirmed that AP made the dial slightly lighter as a response to feedback that it didn't look like the rendering. Took a pic. The change looks a bit more obvious in person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well I'm very happy to say I have the first new (to me) Patek of 2015 inbound! The only bad part is I will be parting with my beloved 5970G and probably my 5960/1A...but it will be worth it! Any guesses?Hope everyone's having a great weekend
