This year marks 125 years since Swiss jeweler Carl Friedrich Bucherer opened up his first watch and jewelry shop in Lucerne, on the way to designing and creating his first timepiece in 1919. To commemorate the anniversary, the modern Carl F. Bucherer watch brand has launched the new Manero Tourbillon Limited Edition.Carl F. Bucherer has created many complicated watches, including models with power-reserve displays, chronographs, and even a perpetual calendar �� and the company makes its own manufacture movement, but this will be the brand’s first tourbillon timepiece. Today I had the good fortune to meet Fr. John for lunch at a gourmet restaurant in Athens called Allen's. This is a new version of the old one which closed in 2003. A great burger joint.Anyway, I had ask that he bring his new chocolate Speedy for me to have a look. I sure am sorry he brought it! It is simply stunning! I had no idea it would be so beautiful. Walking on the Moon!
Well, maybe not the Moon but certainly on air!Here's my new baby, the Speedy Pro.Lovely 'wear-anywhere' watch, no airs about the watch (and it's owner!); must admit the Hesalite crystal had me stumped for some time as I didn't want a watch I had to be really careful about as I HATE scratches.However only the Hesalite watch has the steel back (glass backs do nothing for me) so the original Moon-watch it had to be!And very glad that I made the right choice; something really historic about this watch.Very legible too- that's a major point for me as I drive in a country full of maniacs when it comes to road etiquette and taking your eyes off the road= heading fast for a better world.And yes, I have removed the plastic stickers now.
