Ulysse Nardin 676-85-8 wrist watches news:
I don't know when Pontiac watches died, but they did. They were not an American brand, but as brands come and go, Pontiac went the way of the Dodo a long time ago. GM recently announced that Pontiac will shut down. The over 80 year old division of General Motors has had better times of course, but are we really losing much with the elimination of this automobile brand? The last important Pontiac car was probably the late 1960's GTO line, but that was just because it looked cool - since then it has been dog after derivative dog. The only good recent Pontiac cars were just re-branded Australian Holden cars. While still technically GM cars, Holden had no connection to the chronically dysfunctional American design and engineering side of things. This article is mostly my mention of Pontiac's death, but of course you can see images of the Pontiac watches - just needed to make the timepiece connection! Going back to the cars, I've always had a distinct sense of distaste for the ugly autos. I
I'll be MARRIED!Ill post pics when I get back...
I recently inherited an Omega seamaster Deville - Turler and I am interesed in selling it. Can any one suggest how do I go about doing this and what is the watch worth?
Ahhhh Summer by the pool. A favorite weekend past time for me and my family:Saturday at high noon:Sunday:We saw GET SMART (which was a solid "B") on Friday, and had some great food on the grill....and ICE CREAM!!! A perfect summer weekend in my book.
I had mentioned a while back how I was interested in a skeleton watch. I had been keeping my eye open and then ran across a post for this particular watch from Tao International. I hit the 'bay, did some scouting - and had a package arrive yesterday!Build quality is super. I am very impressed for a watch that costs so little (cough, cough - MSRP $3,600). The movement is based on the 6497 - they say running at 21,600, I say 18,000. It is keeping good time, too early to tell for sure but looks to be in the +/- 8 secs per day depending on position. I find the watch stunning - the detail is just enough - some skeletons are a little over the top for me, this is just right...I like the dial, I know some think a skeleton is completely without dial, this aids in legibility.I am usually not a coin edge guy, but this is done just right - not overbearing and the crown fits in nicely with the rest of the watch. One of the few flaws on the watch is the coin edge on the bottom - look near the m
