Oris 733 7589 7714 wrist watches news:
The idea for the Reverso was born in India in 1931, in response to English polo players’ need for an unbreakable watch. The reversible case allowed an elegant timepiece to survive rugged matches, and enabled the owner to personalize it by engraving his initials, family crest, or a few inspiring words on the dial-protecting shield. After 80 iconic years, this new Grande Reverso Ultra Thin embraces classicism in the form of simplicity. At just 2.94mm thick, the diminutive Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 822 enables the manufacture’s design engineers to create a Reverso slimmer than ever before. While the case with its generous proportions asserts a strong presence on the wrist, its slenderness and subtly curved shape make it both light and comfortable to wear. The strength of the Reverso design is reflected by the fact that it has been reinterpreted many times over the years, even taking on square proportions, yet in each incarnation, the fundamental aesthetic shines through. The Montbrillant Legende was introduced into the Breitling catalogue in 2008. It seemingly replaced the Navitimer Heritage, highlighted below:Standard Montbrillant LegendeNavitimer HeritageThere were differences in the dial layout which were a result of the Legende using Breitling¡¯s calibre 23, instead of the Calibre 35 used in the Heritage. Calibre 35 included a flyback function for the chronograph and ¡°very short time¡± totalisers (graduated over ten minutes and three hours). Calibre 23 forsakes the flyback function and reverts to a single ¡°normal time¡± totaliser. A derivative of the same movement used in the standard Navitimer, this movement has no quick date change but does retain the hacking seconds function. However, comparing the above images of the Montbrillant Legende Limited Edition and Navitimer Heritage now makes for an interesting horological spot-the-difference. The design cues that were transposed from Heritage to Legende LE include the tri-compax dial layout at the 3-6-9
Hello all:I am trying to pull enough info together to do a story on Lange & Sohne wristwatches for the NAWCC Bulletin. I hope I can prevail upon forum members for some information/insight and maybe some images that you would let me borrow for the article (with due credit given, of course!)It appears the company made military/pilot wristwatches from the get-go when they made the transition from pocket to wristwatches. Other than a few "civilian" examples I've seen from Gisbert Joseph's website archives, I have never seen a wristwatch of theirs that WASN'T a military watch! Did they make many "regular" wristwatches from the 1910s up until '45? Or did they more or less go from pocket watches right to military wristwatches with no "stop" in between to make some "regular" (i.e., non military) wristwatches? If anyone has some examples, I'd love to see them!Did some Lange wristwatches use movements by Glashutte? (Gisbert Joseph's website seems to indicates so.) The two companies were obvi
Is it just me, or is this upgrade almost perfect? Seriously smitten by this one.
I had a chance to handle a PAM 375. Its quite nice and low profile. Felt like it sits closer to the wrist than other 47mm 1950 case (372, etc)Anybody has one? How does the composite case hold up?
