Girard-Perregaux has been, for the last few years, in the public eye very much for its haute horlogerie pieces, and it deserves the attention it’s gotten. The variations on its classic Three Golden Bridges Tourbillon are a great example of how it’s still possible to create stylistically compelling variations on what has for at least a decade threatened to be a played-out complication (the 2015 tourbillon model with minute repeater, for instance, is breathtaking). It makes some of the most original decorative arts watches as well, including the 2015 Baselworld “Chamber of Wonders” watches with map motifs. And, of course, it is also the company that cracked a centuries-old horological puzzle by releasing the very first wristwatch with a true constant force escapement (not to be confused with a remontoire d’egalite, which, though a constant force device – like the chain-and-fusee – should not be confused with the far rarer constant force escapemen

The new All Guard arrived and I'm posting my first photo (hopefully). I love the watch, nice size case ans great vintage dial, this one aged with some freckles but still very attractive. Not sure if the resizing worked properly yet...

Batman GMT future value?
I am interested in picking up a 116710BLNR, and was wondering if you guys thought now is a good time to buy. I realize Baselworld is coming up shortly, and there¡¯s a possibility Rolex may update the movements in their sports watches. I think it¡¯s unlikely, but Rolex could also discontinue the batman if they release the coke GMT. Do you think the future of the value of the GMT Batman will be affected if it has the old movement? Thanks!
