identifying Hamilton Thin-O-Matic and setting date
Hello,I recently inherited a Hamilton Thin-O-Matic from my grandfather. I was hoping to identify a model number and get an idea of how old it is. Also, I can't seem to figure out how to set the date on it. I'm not sure if I'm not doing it right, or if it is stuck. The rear of the watch says Hamilton at the top edge and 10 k.t. g.f. at the bottom edge. I'd appreciate any help. Please let me know if better pics are needed.Thanks.

I have inherited my grandfather's wonderful NS Watch from the 70's . The problem is that it was designed for a mercury battery and that is of course not going to be very fruitful. So 2 questions,1st : I put in a 1.5 volt cell out of ignorance and it of course didn't work. Is it totally fried?2nd : I have seen a lot of information on mercury battery work arounds that end up lasting only a week or two. I was wondering if someone had come up with a better solution then changing the battery every week on the watch. Thanks a million,Jopisjop2

SS Nautilus or Aquanaut with SS band?
Went into the city today to look at the Nautilus (5711) but could not find one. I did see an Aquanaut, but it was on a SS band (not rubber) and I must say I think I like it. Curious what the consensus here is on the Aquanaut on SS band.It was this model.swissluxury/patek-phi...anaut-mens.htm

Tudor Black Bay - Customized Leather
I'm thinking it might be possible to find a 3rd party leather strap and transfer the deployment buckle onto it. The deployment buckle is removed from the leather via a very normal spring bar assembly.In order to do this, the leather strap would need to be 22mm wide, tapered to 17.5-18mm where it connects to the deployment buckle. The other side would have the same 20mm-to-18mm taper. The end that is connected to the deployment buckle would need to be about 60mm/2.3in long while the end with the holes in it would need to be about 130mm/5.1in long.This would give us endless opportunities to customize yet retain the very cool Tudor-branded deployment system.Anyone have any good recommendations where I might start hunting for straps that could match the above, or come close?This is a thought experiment for now. But if I found another good (plain) leather strap that seemed to fit, I'd try it out.
