Vacheron Constantin 87172/000G-9301 wrist watches news:
Picked up this Hamilton a while ago at my job, and was just wondering if anyone knows the model name. It runs great, and I want to know the model number because it needs a crystal (This one has a big chip in it). Thanks for the help!
A guy I know claims that when buying a watch, the ultimate decision rest with what the DIAL looks like. Do you agree? And what characteristics of a dial do you like most? For me, it is probably the color that grabs my attention, then readability, and then finally, it is the balance of all the elements on the dial. I find the Hamiltons by and large have most of what I like.
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and to watch collecting in general ( just caught the fever but I've got it bad.). I was hoping, probably fruitlessly, that someone might have a used Oris, preferably a newer sportier model but I'm open to any alternatives, for a reasonable price. I just started collecting in the last few months, I got interested after picking up a nice Citizen Eco Drive perpetual calendar diver with like 10 functions, which showed me the possibilities in a watch. I became obsessed after seeing the JLC Gyrotourbillon which showed me the incredible art and design that is dedicated to these tiny machines, just fantastic. I'm even looking into Watchmaking school. I realized I won't be able to afford the kind of collection I'd like in my current profession, I'm a Sous-Chef at a small restaurant in a small town in Ontario, and Watchmaking seems a good fit for my personality as well as the ideal profession for a watch lover. But back on topic, if anyone has an Oris they'd like to
Hi guysJust wondering what your thoughts were on these 2 watches. 5130: a distinctively PP piece, although VC make one simpler, the PP is better all-round, and the micro rotor is just fantastic. A unique piece, but maybe a little dial busy and difficult to read the time. Great complication for frequent travellers.5396: a step into the great PP territory, an annual calendar. Simple, clean lines and useful day/month indicators. A Calatrava classic.I understand they are apples and oranges, but if you had to choose one, what would it be? What is also likely to be more unique/collectible in future? Thanks?
If this has been discussed, I am sorry. I did a search, but was unable to find. I think that most of us will likely agree that Rolex is the king of marketing. With the current lack of sports models most specifically in the UK and the US, do you think this is part of their marketing? I have heard from many sources that AD's are not getting any new shipments, specifically for sports models, until after the new year. That seems odd to me. My guess would always be that they want to sell more watches. Or, maybe they want to drive more sales of the professional watches?Or, maybe they are looking to create scarcity in the market so that they can soon raise their prices?Or, maybe they simply are looking to become more exclusive so they are limiting their supply?Or, maybe they are just unable to keep up with demand?I know for a fact it has had an effect on me. The simple fact that a 114060 is seemingly so hard to get, makes me want to get one. Then again, I have always been a sucker for ma
