Antiquorum has announced that Michael Friedman has been appointed Horological Director of Antiquorum USA. Mr. Friedman will oversee all U.S. auctions and private sales from Antiquorum’s U.S. headquarters on Madison Avenue in Manhattan. Michael takes over the position from Charles Tearle who was named Head of Antiquorum’s Asian division in August of last year. Friedman’s career in watches and clocks began in 1996 at the Willard House & Clock Museum where he held the position of Assistant Curator and also apprenticed to conservator David Gow. In 1997, he joined The National Watch & Clock Museum as Curator where he co-developed 15,000 square feet of new exhibition space devoted to the history of time measurement. I've seen this type of franken many times. Dial from one model, case from another. It looks fine, but to a collector, it's wrong.
Found this in the collection on Saturday. It is a most interest "Army" dial. Boer War or WWI not sure. font is very early style. Its an important piece, as we rarely see dials like this, two time zones, 24 hour and 12 hour AND marked "in Camp" and "at home"Note it "IN" camp but "at" homeAlso clearly states "The Army's Timekeeper"Very, Very cool stuffACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: NAWCC. Hi guys! A newbie here!Wich one will u choose between a new PAM 510 and a used 359I have been reading the forum and seems like the new 510 doesn't come with the sandwich dial and the 359 is discontinued, so I can't buy it new.Regarding the movement I won't be wearing it everyday and taking into account that it will be my first Panerai I believe I have to go with a traditional manual movement. What do you think?Tks!PD: I have rewrote this post because seems like the moderator is not allowing me to post values of the watches?
