Zenith 03.2110.400/01.m2110 wrist watches news:
Ideas for a watch gift for a good friend retiring from the militaryI am looking for a gift for a friend that is retiring from the Air Force after 20 years of service. I have a general idea in mind of the design and style but cannot seem to find it. Maybe you can help me out. _I want it to be within the 36-39mm width range. For some reason, watches have grown too large these past few years. And preferably between 10-14mm thick._Looking for either automatic or hand wound. _Under the $2000 price range, so $800-1500 would be ideal._Have a classic face and dial design; nothing new age or modern._Have a display back to see the movement. _I would prefer it have a leather strap with clasp tang._I will probably have it inscribed with his initials and dates of military service._A bonus would be if it had a day-date display with the days in German instead of English. If anyone has any ideas please reply or shoot me an e-mail message.Chris
Showing here my other late U.S. Elgins. 42 diamond estate sale bargain and the last rr model. I have a bunch of multicolor gold Elgins and old gold pw. I guess mainly because there were so many made. Except for the recent purchase Lord Elgin 730 1958, this rr 571 model, the best 18 size 23Jewel Veritas rr , and the best 16size model 270 rr, I never deliberately ever sought an Elgin, but in acquiring the gold ones that were susceptible to scrapping, Elgins predominate. A friend was at the recent National NAWCC Mart. There were many hundreds of gold watches scrapped. Several buyers were paying as much as 95% of gold content value. One had spent $60,000+. I am surprised NAWCC officials allowed that activity there.
The gauntlet was thrown (click HERE for the start of the banter), and now you get to vote: which of these two watches is better looking?:1) Omega Constellation2) Hamilton CoronadoWe're only voting on the watch head's design and visual appeal - not the strap, not the composition or quality of the picture, and not the condition either one is in (although they're both in equally good shape). Okay, let the games begin! The poll will close in 2 weeks.
Is this deployant on the 45 PO and same as on the 42mm PO? Both tapering to 18mm? I always assumed the 45 was a larger closure. No?
i do not own a luxury watch till my wife bought me a gmt TT recently. I felt it was too flashy and will keep it in the safe for long. Plan is to keep it for my son and might probably wear it once or twice a year.question is do i need a watch winder? sorry for the noob question. Thanks
