Zenith 51.2160.4047/01.C713 wrist watches news:
Got this baby today for a steal, but, trying to find out info on it.. What's your guys thoughts?
I really like the look of the SMP and would love to get one. Everybody refers to the 2220.80 and similar as the James Bond watch because of Pierce Brosnan. I really don't like Pierce Brosnan, so the idea of that watch bugs me. I also don't like the skeleton hands. Besides, I've got the Casino Royale PO which to me is the James Bond watch. I loved Daniel Craig as Bond. It doesn't seem to make sense now to buy an Omega without co axial. Titanium seems to tinny. There are some gorgeous pictures of SMPs on the Omega Members Gallery thread #21 and #39 but I dont know which of those are available now or if or any like them have co axial. What do you think? BTW, I love being able to do a thread like this and get great opinions and knowledge.
Day before yesterday, when putting my sport shirt back on from a swim in the pool, my Hammy chrono fell out of my pocket and onto a concrete floor...one of the sub-second hands fell off, the dial was slightly displaced, and it would not run...I dropped it off at a local watchmaker's yesterday...possibly not an expensive repair he says...I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!
It's a first world problem for sure. I love my watches but recently I picked up a dream car- Ferrari 488 and now I've been bitten by the car bug. By no means is it my first exotic or sports but it's the most intense car I've ever owned. Now I'm pining to get a Mclaren to add as a stablemate. And by freeing up some funds, maybe the new Mclaren p14 or a Ferrari f12 can be added to the collection.Hard to keep multiple expensive hobbies so I'm considering selling my Patek's to fund the car passion! Can I afford to do both. Well yeah. But just seems frivolous. How many of you have gotten in and out of the hobby? I figure delve in some high end cars for a bit and when I get sick of that, come back to watches. Not saying by any means I'm done with watches- just feel like taking a break. I guess the bigger question is how do you stop the urge to just live a normalExistence and not keep wasting errrr i mean investing money in these expensive hobbies. I just get bored so damn quick tha
I traded the last of my Rolexes today, towards the grail I have posted about so many times. Welcome the Nautilus!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359609891.658549.jpgBut somehow, I know I'll be back. Thanks to all who helped me decide. I actually had the 5711 in mind, but found this. I love it for all the reasons most do not like it-not a traditional looking Patek. The weirder the better in my book. Heck, just look at my favorite Rolex (now sold): the 1630 automatic in the quartz case! Thanks again, I'm sure I'll keep lurking and get drawn back in (Platty Pres lookin' mighty fine in that ice blue!)Cheers!
