With the smartwatch invasion upon us, there are those who have hidden their heads in the sand, those who have hopped on the technological bandwagon to design hybrid models at breakneck speed to turn an easy profit, and there are those who have rolled up their sleeves, stayed true to their roots and taken a stand for traditional mechanical watchmaking. Turning the trend on its head, Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie, has unveiled a timepiece whose design is inspired by a smartwatch but its 100% Swiss core has a mechanical heart: Swiss Alp Watch. The special edition (50 available) has a white gold case (38.2x44mm) enclosing a manual wind HMC324 calibre which provides a 4-day power reserve (96 hours). The movement brings to life key time functions: the hours and minutes adorn the centre of the signature smoky dial as leaf-shape hands glide over the applied indices and the seconds appear in a counter at 6. A Lazy Afternoon, so a few pics...
Day off work today, just lazing around the house, fingers blistered from too much guitar so thought I'd idle away half an hour with a few watches and a camera!First up, my two favourites:-Then a pair of Omega:-Then a stack of dress-style watches:-Then my old beater animal with it's lovely new strap:-Then the Omega Geneve, returned a little while ago from the shop after a clean up and replacement of a couple of broken bits (this one had been sat in my uncle's draw for about 15 years gathering up all sorts of yuk):-Just a reminder of the state it was in a few months ago:-And finally, a Poljot I picked up very cheap, but am a bit dissappointed with - probably shipping this one on quite soon:-Right, time to find something else to do for an hour until everyone starts to get home!Cheers, Gary

Have anyone seen this model before ? I was browsing in the ap website and saw this model when I view similar watch to the 26470st and never saw one. Not my cup of tea though but, would be nice to get to know more about it when was it released? Anyone has a shot of it or seen it in person ? Can't seem to find anything about it in google the blue dial might be nicer in person thoSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
