- Beautiful and sturdy leather band holds a fine looking watch. Very maculine and an excellent timepiece. I am glad I gave it to my son as a graduation gift and so is he.

Ebel E9157428-20 wrist watches news:
Hi all, I am a new poster to the American forum and only recently addicted to vintage watch collecting. I consider myself a USA-centric snob. My collection is mostly Elgins, Hamiltons and Walthams. I believe though that any movement marked USA should be considered as made in America. I have several Bulovas (10ak, 10bp, 8ae) and Gruens (335). Am I correct that the USA on a movement has a specific meaning? Also are there any other manufacturers that have made movements in America? (I have some Westclox. Westcloxi?) Wittenaur? Benrus? Timex? Thanks, Joel
have a great weekend everybody.
I recently traded for this white gold filled w/chrome bezel Elgin on the left. I wanted it because it is identical to my 2-tone Elgin Legionnaire on the rightbut with a white center. Does anyone else have this in white??
Hard to believe Ebay sometimes. I was following an auction today for an Elgin 618 similar to the one in Mark's post American Bumper Automatic.I have a 607 movement in the same case. The watch up for auction was running but had a damaged 1 o'clock lug, the outer ring with the red 10 second markers was painted over, and the second hand was missing (possibly along with the tip of the seconds pinion).I bid high ($32) thinking I could use the original crown and the better of the two backs and crystals. A working 618 is unusual enough to have around also. I was sniped in the last 6 secs by a bidder with $44 who was sniped a second later by a pipe collector judging by his bidding history. Maybe it's the economy or the price of gold but does anyone else see the bidding on vintage watches going crazy lately? Has this happened before?Joel
Saw these yesterday in AD window in London. Quite rare nowadays.
