Zenith RDY wrist watches news:
First, let me say I don't believe everything I read on the internet. I was just doing some google searching on Submariners just for fun and came across a blog(first hint of possibly inaccurate information). This blog stated that the 16610 is no longer referred to as the Sub-Date because as of 2007 the 14060M(no date) has went out of production. They did state that some of the 2007's were getting the Superlative Stamp for the first time in many years, which I have seen. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? I can't imagine Rolex doing away with this classic, but I am sure more and more people want a date function and sales are probably slower on this model. If this is true I am glad I picked mine up when I did. I don't intend to let this one go like I did my first one.
Hi, Does anybody know if a 10L movement will fit in a watch originally housing a 30L?My year 1959 sub seconds Longines needs a better movement. No or very few 30L's around but I have located several nice 10L movements. If I buy a 10L can I just pop it in the 1959 case?
What is generally considered a vintage watch?Silly question perhaps, but allow me to explain. In the drum world, we (And myself most of the time) don't consider drums Vintage if they were made after 1970. There are exceptions of course, but they are rare. I'm more flexible in this area, where some others are not. So, in the world of watches, how old does a watch have to be to be considered true vintage? Does brand matter in this, or are some watches just plain old? Would my 1974 Bulova (I looked again and the number was N4) be considered vintage? My 1981 caravelle; Is that just an old watch?Just curious!
