- My husband loves it!! It's super thin and elegant, great quality for the price. I didn't want to get him the typical looking Movado face without numbers and this was it.

The 14th International Chronometry Congress of the Swiss Chronometry Society meets September 28-29 at the Salle Stravinsk in Montreux, Switzerland. This year’s theme is “Time and Sport: Technological and Human Challenges”. During the Congress, about twenty lectures will be presented to over 500 watchmakers, technicians, engineers and professionals. Selected presentations will summarize the latest technological innovations regarding chronometry. Others will allow participants to enter an athlete¡¯s mind by questioning his relationship with time. The Congress is proud to welcome important athletes including Erica Reymond Hess (Alpine Skiing), Stefan Volery (Swimming), Magali Di Marco Messmer (Triathlon), Ren¨¦ Arnoux (Formula 1 racing). In parallel with the Congress, and in light of the success of the exhibit that took place during the 2009 Journ¨¦e d¡¯Etude, the Swiss Chronometry Society will organize a new exhibit about sport watches, which will be open only to those atten
Sitting on the watchmaker's bench, two things became apparent; that finger condoms (cots) choke the blood out of my fingers and looking through a loupe with just one eye gives you no depth perception when you need it most. For several days I took instruction from a master watchmaker while I and an watches-dealer reader were guests of Frederique Constant in Geneva putting together our first watch movement. It was a thrilling experience, and one that few people will ever receive, even if they pay for it. Unless they go to a watch making school that is.Technical Director and watchmaker Pim Koeslag is Dutch, and so is Peter Stas, who is the founder of Frederique Constant (with his wife Aletta). The manufacture which also houses sister brand Alpina is nestled (quite literally in the middle) of several famous manufactures in Geneva including Piaget, Vacheron Constantin, Rolex, and Patek Philippe. Pim started working with Peter when Frederique Constant was getting serious about making in-hous
After writing a few articles about this watch I wanted to step back and think about it a bit. To be "the world's most complicated watch," even for a short period of time is quite a feat. This is measured in terms of "complications" which tend to have generally accepted definitions and can be enumerated to watch industry professionals and enthusiasts. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Hybris Mechanica Grande Sonnerie has 26 complications. If you could count its functions, the number does not reach 26 of course. In fact, let's count the number of functions that it has in a nutshell. It shows the time (hour, minute, and seconds) - three functions. It has a perpetual calendar function that shows the day, date, month, and leap year - another four functions. The watch has a complex sonnerie (chiming) mechanism that has a three different chimes plus a minute repeater - another four functions. Then you have two power reserve indicators - two more functions.? If you count those up, you get 16 complications.
So like the title says, I am going in to purchase my first Panerai tomorrow! I chose to go with the 113 and must say it will be some sleepless nights until I have it on I am having it shipped to me from out of state AD who gave me a smoking deal and will save tax! I was deciding between this and the 183 but decided this would be a better first watch with the 183 to follow.I am going with the 113 because I love how the white faces stands out and the multitude of straps that can go with itI can already see that demon growing rapidly as I surf the boards.. Anyways I look forward to being on here and will of course post pics as soon as it arrives :D
I’m looking at acquiring a GMT Master II Coke, but I want to switch it to a Pepsi, how is the best way to go about this? Does Rolex Service Center sell these? Would prefer not to get a knock off.
