A. Lange & Sohne 109.025 wrist watches news:
I picked up this Citizen Promaster BUT cant find ANYTHING on the Net about it!
I was trying to explain to my son how radio controlled watches work by setting themselves to a radio signal, and that (as far as I know) they only work in Japan, USA & Europe (does that include Russia?).He asked me what happens when you travel say from USA to Japan, does the watch automatically recalibrate itself to local time, or do you set the offset for your local zone and the watch changes the broadcast time (which I'm guessing will be GMT) to always be at your home zone. So regardless of what country you receive the signal, if you have set your watch for example to add 13 hours to GMT, it will keep the correct time for your home zone.Of course that's assuming the watch will pick up the signal in different countries - are they broadcast on different freqs? I seem to recall seeing a WTF member's pic of their watch that had all 3 radio areas built in so I guess that does mean 3 different freqs. Can someone clear this up for me please?Much appreciated.
I was enjoying a cup of coffee and looking over some of the forum when I looked at my watch and noticed it was stopped at 0630 this but it was really 0800. So I carefully unscrewed the crown and I can change the time but winding it, and I was very gentle, wont work. Re-seating the crown and side to side shake of the watch causes the seconds hand to advance about 5 sec before it stops again. Pretty disappointing considering that I'm leaving for a big trip on Monday morning and wanted my buddy the Seamaster to tag along.
Is this model still available?? I know it is listed on the Panerai website so I would think so or was it a limited edition??
Not for the first time I’m hearing and reading that Rolex are looking to position themselves in the Uber luxury segment with reduced production likely to increase pricing thru demand. Currency fluctuations aside we haven’t seen a price increase for a number of years but the trend is there for all to see with preowned prices and if the reduced output strategy is only Half true I wonder if the end game may well be in sight for many more.Of course one could assume that others will fill the void, Omega ,JLC and IWC etc etc will no doubt step up and their watches will in turn increase exponentially until they too are symbols of ultimate luxury. Of course Nomos and other entry level watches will then fill that void and become the sought after brand of tomorrowI admit i may be being a little bit pessimistic but in an odd sort of way i’m largely done with Rolex for myself and any future buys will be gifts for my wife and daughter. In truth I’ve probably got all I coul
