Hi all. I've just registered, but it's a long time since I've been surfing through these pages. I'm writing from Italy and after a quite pained quest for a suitable automatic chrono (the first serious watch of my life) I made my decision: I bought a Khaki Field Chrono.I love the design, love the little comforting noise it does, love the classical never boring shape of it. So, what's the problem?Actually I'm a bit surprised by the time keeping. I came from quartz watches and I'm used to almost second split accuracy. Before going for an auto however I read all the possible stuff regarding the movements, the differences in models and brands, and so on. Hamilton gives its chronos at + or - 7 seconds accuracy per day. I've found that in these early days since my purchase (a week now) my watch has gained almost a minute! Is it really normal? Shall I just get used to re-set the time more often than I used?Still, I'm not complaining, as far as I know I'm still in the range given by Hamilton (+
On my 1000th post, I just wanted to tell John (aka JBHII) and all of the mods how great this forum is. I appreciate the friendly atmosphere, the non-snobbishness, and the willingness of the members to help when a question is asked - not many forums out there have all of these attributes. WTF has some really cool ideas like the Watch Boxes and the WTF Traveling Mascot was especially a fantastic out of the norm thinking. I was privileged to have hosted it's first visit to Georgia and enjoyed its company.Again, thanks for making WTF a great place to always want to visit!
just founded a clearer photo of this mysterious watch.
Hi guys-One of our clients just sent us this beautiful Universal Geneve Golden Shadow. Automatic movement, 18K gold. I believe it was the thinnest automatic movement when it was introduced.Just starting to do a bit of research to determine the appropriate price, etc.Any thoughts would be helpful...or feel free just to enjoy the pic! It's a great looking watch...and according to the WSJ, vintage is making a comeback! We blogged about it as well.Thanks...and enjoy!
