G. Gerlach ORP Orzel 85A Review
When we first mentioned G. Gerlach a couple of years ago it was because it seemed like a neat novelty for a brand to manufacturing watches in Poland. The first watch of theirs we reviewed, the Otago, was cool, but it had a lot of room for improvement. Well, since then we've reviewed the awesome automotive Lux-Sport and the stylish vintage-inspired Navigator. Both showed great improvement from the brand and that they weren't just a novelty. Rather, they quickly established themselves as a serious brand to keep in mind for quality affordable watches. October last year was indeed a very exciting time here at Arizona Fine Time. We learned a few very important pieces of information from Seiko. First, Grand Seiko was finally and officially coming to the US. Second, Arizona Fine Time had been named the 1st official US dealer. And finally, that we would be hosting a Grand Seiko Launch Party and Road show. By the beginning of November, the Grand Seiko watches had started to trickle in and the day was fast approaching for our Launch Party and Road Show. This was to be a grand event where you could actually see a master watchmaker assemble an entire Grand Seiko time piece. The day came for the event faster than any of us had expected and we were truly excited to be part of this special launch. Well, I thought I might have gotten over the watch bug by combatting it with fountain pens, but when you are at the Flea Market and there is this Hamilton.....how does one have the strength to say no?I have not been able to locate the identity of this model, any chance someone could help with the name/age of it? 10k gold filled case, 505 movement. No second hand present, would there have been one originally?Thanks!

Watch accuracy apps?
I saw one and downloaded it. I took the readings as it requested. Day 1. 0.0Day 2. +75Day 3. Back to zero spd I don't have too much faith in it going forward. It was a free app. Can't cope t much I guess. What do you use?

Should future value threads be banned?
This morning I read a future value thread inquiring what % of a portfolio should be in watches (my fault for reading). Obviously, some members like these threads and some do not. And I mean no disrespect to those who do like these threads, but....I know that this is not a democracy and we do not get to vote on what threads are permitted. I also know that the moderators already do a thankless job and have more on their plate than we can imagine. So it would probably not be practicable. But....If this was a democracy, would you vote to ban future value threads?
