U-Boat 2060 wrist watches news:
By forum standards, I'm a small potato. After all, I currently own 7 watches, and only 2 of those are higher end. I've always liked watches, they have just been down the priority list as a pursuit. I'm also a hardware guy who likes 'em substantial and sporty, and am fascinated by mechanical movements. I'm a bigger fan of tool than dress watches, though some dress chronos really appeal. They generally fit my lifestyle a little better as well. I've never bought vintage because there seems to be a lot to learn to do it right. I've also not had much exposure to some of the more esoteric brands like Sinn and IWC or even the Japanese domestic market Seikos.(until last year I thought Panerai was a restaurant chain that baked their own bread). So, I am curious what your favorite brands other than Omega are. If there is a specific model or two you like regardless of price or country of origin, please feel free to post a photo. Just trying to get some ideas from a like minded group of folks.
Hello gang! I'm in the market for a 3-4 head watch winder but can't justify a $1700 winder..does anyone around here know anything about Steinhausen winders? I understand the concept you get-what-you-pay-for but again, a winder over $1k I think is a bit too much...thxalam
I'm looking at possibly picking up a Tissot T-Sport PRC200 for casual wear and was wondering what you Tissot owners thought of its Lume. I can't find anything online when I search it that gives me a really good idea of how bright it is and how long it will last. Example: If I go to a dark concert for 3 hours, will the lume last all the way through it? Or perhaps even longer? I know my Bulova lasts a good few hours, and I have an Invicta that will maybe last 2 hours if I'm lucky. Anybody got experience with this?
I wasn't sure what was the proper forum so please move as appropriate. Anyway I just came into possession of a Wakmann triple date with a Valjoux 730 movement. I am trying to find out more about the watch and the lack of information is staggering. Just the history of Wakmann alone is up for debate at the different sites I have been too. Some say it was an arm of Breitling, others that it was a separate company that was a name on watch buying movements and putting it's own case on Gigandet watches. I can't even find out what the 73.1308.21 on the back of the watch is. Some sites say it is the case size, others say it refers to the caliber. I can't even find the serial number. Also any impressions of the Valjoux 730 movement like how robust it is would also be helpful. If anyone can answer any of these questions I would be thankful. The watch is beautiful and I can't wait to get it serviced and start wearing it as one of my daily watches. I attached a few shots so you can get an
Morning all! Any thoughts on where to send a Cosmic 2000 for service and light restoration in the UK please? Thanks
