- The first one I bought was stolen out of my suitcase on the way home from Italy. I had to have another one; I am so hooked on this watch. It has great features and is easy to use. The only thing I don't like is the color.

I haven't thought about new watches in a very long time, but my niece who's just out of college, wants to buy a watch for her fianc¨¦.....so she came to me......and now me to you.She's looking for something that balances between casual and dress, leather band or stainless bracelet. With a $500.00 cap, what do you suggest? Should she stay away from automatic movements in this price range? Thanks in advance.

AP 15400or on rubber...
Hi allI'm very close to pulling the trigger on what will be a grail watch for me, the 15400or. Im one of these people who like strap options on my watches though. I know the black dial comes with a black leather strap and the silver/white dial comes with a brown leather. I've seen images of the black dial on a rubber strap but never seen the White dial on rubber. Now, before I get roasted alive for asking I appreciate White dial watches are generally more formal so rubber straps may be seen as taboo but I bet someone out there has done it or seen it and I need to get the option out of my head if it looks horrendous. For background I have a small collection and every piece has a black dial which is why I wouldn't mind the change. However I'm not against another black dial. Over to you guys and girls. Any fans of the white gold and black dial 5227? I really like the look of the watch however I am seldom if ever in formal attire or environment. Dressy for me is a Polo and a pair of jeans 😂. I have not handled the reference but it looks stunning in photos.
