New and need educating
So a few years ago, my wife and I were in Grand Cayman on our honeymoon and I saw a Blue LE James Bond that I loved. I really wanted it but decided that the money was best kept since we were a new couple. A year or so ago we were in Nassau and I found the newer black LE James Bond model and it again started the lust machine. I again passed it but this time it has been harder to forget. I recently started looking online but was afraid to get screwed. I thought it was best to find a forum and ask some questions. I started reading here but got even more confused. When I see "2254.50", that is a model right?What price range can I expect for the black LE James Bond model? Should I look online or wait and look again when we head back to the Caribbean? We average about once a year.Sorry for these being newbie questions, but I didn't see a FAQ.

New from unauthorized dealer or used from AD?
Hello Patek Experts,I recently purchased my first Patek as a special gift to myself a PRE-OWNED ladies' stainless 24 yes, I know this is not the ultimate collector's watch but still one that appealed to me personally that I have been eyeing for several years.In any event, I now see that I could have purchased the watch NEW from an unauthorized dealer for about $600 more. A few relevant points:-the purchased watch is in excellent condition and they are going to replace the case for me at no charge ($300+value)-the watch was purchased from an authorized dealer with a great reputation and service-the watch did not come with papers but they did give me a brand new Patek box (i have zero doubt about authenticity and it is highly unlikely i will ever sell it so not sure how much of an issue this is). the store originally sold the patek new in around 2004.-the watch was $7900+tax which brought me up to $8600. i could buy the watch new from an unauthorized dealer for about $9200 (retail
