3 Limited-Edition M¨¹hle Glash¨¹tte Watches Commemorate 145 Years of the Brand
The German watch brand we know today as M¨¹hle Glash¨¹tte was founded in 1869 by Robert M¨¹hle, and the family business was re-established in 1994 by his descendant, Hans-J¨¹rgen M¨¹hle. M¨¹hle Glash¨¹tte commemorates both the 145 anniversary of its origins and the 20th anniversary of its rebirth this year with a trio of limited-edition anniversary watches.The R. M¨¹hle & Sohn Anniversary editions, fittingly named after the company’s founder, represents the launch of M¨¹hle’s “R. M¨¹hle & Sohn” manufacture collection and feature the debut of two new in-house movements, Caliber RMK 01 and RMK 02. Both new movements are manual-wound and designed by M¨¹hle watchmakers in the classical Glash¨¹tte style, with such stylistic hallmarks as engraved balance cocks and screwed gold chatons. Florijn 2 Review
The best way to discover a new brand is when you least expect it… So, we were in Basel and had plans to grab a beer with Stefan from Stuckx (nice guy, cool brand and gnarly watches, more on them to come), and he asked if it was cool for his friend Hans from Florijn Horloges to join us. We said of course, and Hans brought along a few of his watches to show. Well, we all really liked them… They were tough-as-nails modern divers with cool bulky cases, bold bezels, aggressive dials, Seiko NH35A movements, sapphire crystals, 300M water resistance and… really affordable prices. Coming in at under $400 these are genuinely a great deal, something that is getting ever rarer, especially for watches with unique designs. For review, we went with the Florijn 2, which features a steel case and a DLC bezel for about $366 (326.45 euros). There are also the model 1 and 3, which are all steel and all DLC, respectively. Each model is limited to only 100 pieces. So, let's get right to it

Sea Dweller 16600 or Sea Wolf?
I am on the verge of getting a BNIB 'V' serial Sea Dweller (not the Deep Sea)from my AD in the next few weeks.However I have today seen (and tried on) the Breitling Avenger Sea Wolf.I confess to not usually being a Breitling fan as I tend to find them too "bling" and too large for my tastes.However, the SW has really grabbed me despite it's (to me) huge 44mm x 18.4mm and weighing in at 102g.I tried on the blue dial version (which is a very grey/blue and almost black/grey in certain light). I was bowled over by it's superb build quality and the general "feel" of it.I love the tool like simplicity of the dial and the crown, winding, setting time etc was smooth as silk and (dare I say it!) better than any Rolex or Omega I've ever owned!The Ti case & bracelet made it a very light watch for it's proportions and if anything added rather than deterred from it's feel of quality and solidity.The legibility of the dial was excellent too.All in all I was very impressed.Thing is I don't know a

BBQs and BEZELS
All righty then!!!! Since it's the BBQ season (well, I actually grill all year 'round so it's always the season) I figured I'd post a few pics of some recent BBQ & Bezel action.I may sound like an infomercial but I have to give my Orion Cooker a plug here. I got it last summer and it smokes food to perfection and it's basically idiot proof. Just set it and forget it and in an hour and fifteen minutes you have amazing fall off the bone smoked ribs, chicken, salmon, brisket you name it.I use the bezel on my watch for a lot of things but it's most fun using it for BBQ :-)

..in the esteemed AP Owner's Club.I just posted a bit of a self-indulgant travelogue in the open discussion forum If you elect to jump to the end of that thread, you will find that a result of the trip was a discovered love for the AP Diver. Given my complete lack of self-control, I now own said watch - my first AP. I am amazed by the quality of this piece, and am thrilled to own it.
