Audemars Piguet Audemars Piguet 38299 wrist watches news:
My first vintage watch that got me interested in collecting was a Wittnauer auto with a AS 1361 11arg movement which dates to some time in the mid 50's I believe. When I got this watch I never knew about restoring, servicing, cleaning, dial refinishing, replacing the hands, the list goes on. This is a very plain little watch but I actually like wearing it, feels weightless on the wrist. My problem now is after reading about other members watches got me wondering if the dial on this watch is as bright as it should be, it does seem quiet dark but maybe this is the way it should be. I assume the radium hands need to be replaced, the lume it gone and they look a little worse for wear. Is this a watch that I should consider trying to clean the dial myself if needed and also it it a tough job to replace the hands for a beginner. The hour markers are silver coloured coated but seem invisible on the dial at the moment, but the colour is ok maybe it is just lost on a dirty dial ? The case is st
I'm thinking about doing it.. although I know many people think it is sort of sacrilege.I would like to buy a panda dial (Mitsukoshi) and change the sweeping seconds hand and minute & hour hands to black. All sold online by Ofrei (if I can'y post the name let me know and I will edit, or any mod can go ahead on delete it).Any watchmaker could do it.Would you do it? Any pics of such a mod?
Funny isn't it?I love my Rolex timepieces modern but I prefer my Omega's vintage..Just look at those disigns from decades ago...For example one of my vintage Omega Geneve's..Almost art if you ask me..What I also love about these oldies are the manufacterer movements inside, simple and tough movementsYou can't go wrong with a vintage Omega IMHO..
Hi guys, I thought it would be interesting to know what are your 5 favorite sport pieces, you don't need to own them, just tell use your 5 favorite ones.Mine are:-Patek 5712/5711 (depends if you prefer the funky 5712 or the more elegant 5711) for me the 5712 is the ultimate Nautilus, same size, 40mm as the original, ultra thin like the 5711, comfort is at the max, love the micro rotor, and the blue, that legendary blue...-Rolex 116619 Smurf-Royal Oak either 15300 or 15202 with blue dial-Patek 5167R-Blancpain 50 FathomsAs some will have noticed I love blue, for me any time piece available in a few colors including blue the choice will always be the blue dial
