My father in law doesn't know that I'm into watches. My wife never tells him too :). My new task this weekend is to find him a reptile or faux strap for his pride and joy watch here One of the sisters bought him this one and he said it looked like a 'worker's' strap. ;p They are having headaches over something I'm more than willing to take on! I just went through my 30 or so leathers, etc. But everything was 20mm plus. Going to visit some local stores tomorrow. Anyone getting bored by the RO Jumbo ?
I mean after a while the simple watch is just dull and feels nothing interesting about it and then you realize you paid so much $$$ for such a simple fragile looking watch?? Anyone feeling this and having regrets over this piece?

Finally pulled the trigger!
After a fairly long search I picked up my first Panerai: a 219! I've been hoping to own a Destro for a while now so I'm pretty stoked about this one. Sorry no pics yet. I'll have the watch in exactly one week and I'll be sure to post some pics then!

Fake strap?
A few years ago when my uncle died I inherited a few bits and pieces including a 'Rolex' strap that was on an old Rotary watch. I can't post photos as I don't have enough posts to do that! I've done some Googling and similar straps seem to have more markings than mine. It's a stainless steel bracelet strap. The only markings on mine are the Rolex brand mark on the middle of the outside of the strap and 'Rolex Made In England Stainless Steel' on the reverse. There's also some kind of serial number on the lugs which looks like PD 874089 but it may be PO or P0 at the beginning. On the reverse of similar looking straps I've found online there are 2 larger Rolex brand marks. The fact it says 'made in England' seemed odd to me because anyone creating a fake would surely have it read 'Swiss Made'. Unless of course it's VERY OLD and was made prior to the company relocating to Geneva in 1919...which seems unlikely. Anyone any idea if it's just a piece of tat? :-) Thank you.
