As my passion for early watches continues, I picked up my fourth 'offset' crown - this one using a Lepine movement with crown at 1.30.Its an early 1916 ELGIN Trench Watch with Offset CrownExcellent overall condition. This watch numbers among the earliest of American wristwatches. Movement serial number 19150974 dating it to 1916Fitted with a correct period handmade black leather Saddlers 2 piece band, In 1918 all bands were handmade!WW1 era Elgin 0 size ¡°trench watch¡°, 15 jewel, ¡®offset crown. Case by ¡°Philadelphia Watch Case Co¡± with wire lugs, designed just for the band fitted. In search of Ceramic Diver (orange)
I have a 15305OR I wear to work quite often and need a sports watch with durability. Therefore, I want a watch with either ceramic or forged carbon material. I have a smaller wrist, and a 44mm is just way too big. The 42 mm is even slightly pushing it. I've been thinking a while about and have decided upon the Ceramic diver with orange accents. It seems these are much harder to find than its counterpart with yellow accents - why is that? I saw a used yellow one for sale around $17k. It seems most others sell just under MSRP even though used....wondering what's a good price range?Since it's a discontinued model, anyone have any leads? Sent from my Zeitwerk

5726 vs YG SubC LN
I'm seriously considering trading my YG SubC to pick up a 5726. I'll probably need to give up my PAM 233 as well. I'm trying to find the happy place of 3 - 4 watches but for now I cannot. I can, however, justify trading some that simply don't get wrist time. Opinions are greatly appreciated. /R

My one complaint about the 5164....
Hello everyone here at TRF! I've been mulling over this post for some time wondering if I should even start a thread like this. I am a person who always tries to focus on the good aspects of people and things and ignore the negatives. That is especially true when discussing an item like a Patek Philippe watch which is truly as close to perfection as one can expect from a man-made item. All that said, I am really struggling to get past one issue with the watch that is driving me up the wall.....the incredibly loud (relatively speaking) rotor noise.Now I know this issue has been raised before. For whatever reason, the 324 movement is a noisy movement. Now, I have owned the 5167 Aquanaut in the past and it seems that the movement in the 5164 is even more noticeable and it's really taking away from my enjoyment of the watch.
