770's with gold striping, some have it, some don't.
Figured this topic was worthy of its own thread.Thanks Stales for the info in my original thread...(.info/foru...htm#post566639). If you take a look at the pic of the 770 in that thread, you'll notice the gold striping, but others I've seen on line don't have it. So, does anyone know anything about this?Thanks,Kevin

Longines getting ESPN screen time on Super Bowl Sunday
While watching the pre game show on ESPN this morning, they showed clips of games in the past, one of which caught my eye.This shot is from the 1956 NFL championship, which was played at Yankee stadium in New York.I paused the TV and took a cell phone photo of the TV screen and thought this might be interesting to some of the members here.Apparently, Longines was the time keeper of that stadium back then.

Question on older Constellation
image.jpgAn old friend of mine passed away and he left me his well used Connstellation. I was trying to learn a bit more about it. He told me he bought it when he was in the service in the late Vietnam era, I think that is correct for this model. I wanted to look up the serial number but the number on the movement is unlike others I've seen. Is this a replacement movement or something of that sort? Also the band is missing one of the links closest to the case, I have no idea how that came to be but if I want to wear it I'd need at least two links and it sure would look better if it wasn't missing that link. Am I right in assuming I should just be on the lookout for a complete bracelet assuming I ever decided to wear it?

Hi, first time poster. Just bought my first Rolex at the AD in St. Lucia. DJII, SS/WG, silver dial. When reading up I saw a few questions here about US Customs. Here's my experience this evening.Duty charged at Newark was 3%. That was applied only to the balance after my duty-free allowance of $800. I.e., (price - $800) x .03 = dutySmall change, and it took all of 10 minutes to present my receipt and pay by credit card.
