Hello all,I dont post on this forum much, but I spend a good amount of time proweling on it. I dont know why, but I have always loved watches. My first "nice" watch was a Seiko Coutura Kinetic (which I still own). My second was a Tag Heuer Aquacer (which I have subsequently sold), my third was a Tag Heuer Carrera (currently for sale on ebay), my fourth was an Omega Speedmaster Professional (which I plan on always owning), and my fith was a Baume & Mercier Classima Executive (which I may always own...or replace with an IWC Portuguese one day). The other day I was walking down the street and saw the Omega Boutique in Seattle, so decided to stop in. I immediately fell in love with the Omega Seamaster AT 8500 caliber 42 mm diameter. It seemed to meet all my timepiece needs: versatility, in-house movement, display back, 42 diameter size, and simply just spot on craftmanship. The New Sapphire Caseback for Rolex Watches By Thomas Preik
Two years ago, I ordered some sapphire case backs for from German manufacturer Thomas Preik which I installed on my Rolex Daytona 116520, and on my Rolex Yacht-Master 16622. You can read about it in my article on Modifying and Upgrading Your Rolex by clicking here.Thomas has recently released a new design for his sapphire case backs, and he sent me one for review. The new case back now has the familiar grooved teeth design which is consistent with the stock Rolex stainless steel case back. This thought on my mind. I can¡ät see how Rolex cannot bring this piece to life again in the coke bezel and Stainless steel. Leave the Pepsi as the White Gold exclusive. Can anyone imagine how many they would sell ? I also wonder if the bezel would be interchangeable with the Batman.
