Baume & Mercier M0A08771 wrist watches news:
I have this old Omega Automatic dated about 1946 and I am looking for a reputable watch service to disassemble, clean, oil, and for a possible repair. The watch runs ok, but is very dirty inside, the face has a nick, and the gold colored case will need a buffing. I would like to ask if anyone has experience with a watch repair of this type, and could recommend a dependable watch repair service.
10 Longines, 13 Omegas.that's just wrong, ya know? Something had to be done so.....early 70's Admiral caliber 6952:early 60's Conquest caliber 290:Yep, snagged two - both from forum members. The top one from Craig (my fellow Longines mod Wombat) as a mini-project, the bottom one from Tony C. I've needed a blue dialed watch for casual occasions, and the 290 was a caliber missing from the collection. To further balance the scales, one Omega will be outgoing soon to a forum member too. That's a subject for a different thread though.More pics later....
I just got in my Ventura reproduction silver and black leather strap that Hamilton issued with the first run Ventura's only for a few months. I picked it up at that place by the sea. It's got the Hamilton logo and "Electric" words embossed into the inside of the strap. It really makes the Ventura come alive. Richard Arbib had the right idea and the watch feels 'complete' now. I recommend it to everyone who owns a Ventura.I know that our illustrious member and expert sells them on his website and I would recommend buying from him FIRST. Problem is he doesn't or didn't have them in silver at the time I inquired about it. RUN, DON'T WALK AND BUY ONE.Here's some photos of it:
I can't believe how fast time is flying at the moment. It seems it was only just February and now it's half way through April. Dunkirk today.Have a nice one everybody.
I'm looking to get another watch within the next year or two and I know it will either be another Rolex or an AP. I would love to have a 15450 but the only thing stopping me are some of the issues I've heard concerning the 3120 movement, mostly with the date setting or the crown breaking off. Are there any issues I should know about or are these just isolated incidents?
