Girard Perregaux 49850-11-252c-ba6a wrist watches news:
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Fiona?Kr¨¹ger, one of the newer independent watch designers to have caught our eye with her creations. ?She tells us about her First Grail Watch, which is the oldest Grail Watch we've featured.watches-dealer (ABTW): ?Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Fiona Kr¨¹ger (FK): ?My name is Fiona Kr¨¹ger, and I am a young independent Scottish watch designer and producer working in Switzerland. I design and produce my own "Swiss Made" timepieces as well as collaborating with brands looking for a more emotional and unique take on watch design. I'm best known for my skull watches, which are produced in limited series.ABTW: ?When did your fascination with watches start?FK: ?When I came to Switzerland to do my Masters. One of the sponsors of the course at that
"Change is the only constant in this world." This edict has been the compelling reason why I chose to own two of the most unique and technologically advance timepieces in the market today -the IWC Topgun Ceramic Doppel Chrono and the Rolex Sea Dweller Deep Sea. Both are, beyond doubt, very distinct from the normal melieu found in their respective dens.I just got my SDDS tonight from my AD in Manila. The funny thing is, despite its purported huge size, I thought it was dwarfed by my IWC when I first saw it and tried it on my wrist. But of course my Topgun is 46mm compared to the 43mm Deep Sea. Other than its diameter, what I instantly noticed was the height of the bezel. It is indeed tall. The first time I saw it in my wrist, it kinda looked odd. I even thought it protruded too much. But after seeing its reflection in the mirror, I came to realize that its height gave it a sense of regality, if there is such a word. I always beleived that the mention of the name Rolex connotes some sort
The name of mine today is Vincent, so who is the one at your side?
So I'm in Chicago and wanted to get my Pam 392 serviced, there is a slight scuff on the bezel and the tiniest of chips on the crystal. Its been running just a tad slow since I got it and I just picked up another watch so figured I would get this serviced so its perfect. Question is should I send to Panerai? I heard they are pretty pricey and could take awhile. Or have a local watchmaker take a look (if I go this route he won't replace the crystal, would need to send it to panerai to get a authentic panerai crystal is what one guy said) also any recommendations for someone in Chicago to work on it?I'm thinking of selling it too so want it nice if I decide to go that route, is it even worth refinishing or selling as is? I'm the original owner and have the box and all paperwork so it should make it easier.
