- The watches are really very nice. The price was excellent. The look of this duct is that of a much more expensive watch. Try one, you'll love it.

Hi All,Decisions decisions eh!! Watches are such a collectible addition to your lifestyle and ohhhhh so addictive, I expect this affliction effects a lot of peeps on here :-)I'm in the throws of adding another timepiece to my wrist attire. A Ball has been high in my list but I'm continually drawn to the Hamilton X Wind pilot chronograph. I am seriously keen on getting a watch with the a base Valjoux 7750 movement. They seem to be in watches ranging from ?1000-?5,000+I've looked at the Ball ionosphere, invicta,C.Ward and numerous others. Please can I have any advice/comments good or bad regarding the X-Wind.CheersSi
Well, the day dawned cool and active...Cool as it was about 54 degrees when I took the pups out for their morning "business".Active as the Kirkland Triathalon was today and the bikers were cruising up the street behind the house.Keen to get the day moving and get some writing done on my book, I immediately set out to purchase a watch online! :) Ended up buying two, which is detailed in another thread here.On the radar for the last few weeks has been a Seiko Orange Monster, as well. At first I was unsure, being "just" a Seiko. As soon as I started to research these great watches, though, I began to see what an incredible value they are. Thus the hunt began online, on eBay, etc. I scoured the advertisers here, noted prices, compared shipping options, etc.Sadly, it's noteworthy the official Seiko site doesn't show these watches in their catalogue. Perhaps I was on the wrong Seiko site - who knows...As fate would have it, my wife noticed a Seiko store at the premium outlets about 35
Well, after the original plan for the bracelet for this watch bombed out, I found a used Yobokies Hammer bracelet. I got it in record time and mounted on the watchI am actually really surprised but very pleased with the result. I think this watch is now as good as any divers south of the $500 mark. Really solid, great lume, hefty and comfortable. Here are some pics:And here are some wrist shots to show how the watch and bracelet sit on my 8 1/4" wrist. The link design makes it a little flexible thus making it very comfortable since it adapt itself to the contour of the wrist. Sorry is some are a little blurry.
Does anyone on this forum from the US attend watch collector/enthusiast events? It seems the large conventions in Switzerland are not convenient for many of us humble smaller time collectors. The classic car world has Concours which happen all over the country and are generally very good including the d'Elegance/Pebble Beach. Are there similar events for watches/horology that arent just for dealers/retailers?
