Within the last couple of months I've had the pleasure of reviewing the Sinn 556i and the Archimede Outdoor Protect. We also have a review of the Damasko DA36 Black in the works. All three are "entry-level" German-made tool watches with nimble cases built for active lifestyles that are still office appropriate. One is a cult favorite, being well regarded by all who own or handle it, one has sort of gone under the radar, but is due its day in the sun, and the last has a strong cult following. Two are a bit more expensive, the other a hard-to-beat value. One is a bit more stylish, one a bit bland and the other sort of in between. Plus it is an annual calendar, which means, I think, it needs to only be change on Feb 28th....?A really nice movement from ML, with 49 jewels and adjusted to 3 positions (I think).Local jewelery store has what I consider a great deal on since it is a discoed model. Rolex for 2 sons?
Hello, I have 2 sons and I'm considering buying each of them a watch to be given to them on their 18th birthday (16+ years later). Ideally, it would be nice if one watch is wearable by my wife and the other by myself but that might limit the choices so it's not 100% must. My question is regarding this: if you are younger than 30, how do you feel about your parents passing down a watch to you? Are there any particular model/color that you'd like (from the current new collections that I can get from an AD?) And if you have kids, have you done something similar and what did you buy? So, what would be the best 2 watches for my sons?Thank youps. Any current rolex watch is fair game regardless of material and this is not for investment purpose at all so I could care less about how much the watch would be worth 16 years later. :)
