Oris Williams F1 Team Day Date Watch For 2010
Continuing their partnership with the Williams F1 team, Oris has released a new motor sport watch for 2010 that is likely the nicest yet when it comes to a watch made for Williams. This is at least the fourth watch to come from the partnership, and it looks really nice in mostly black with a technical looking blue trim. Oris is further refining the dial design, offering a fascinating, yet polished look.The case itself is 44mm wide in DLC black. Notice the thin blue line that extends around the periphery of the side of the case. It is a neat little detail helping the case of the watch to stand out. The colors are also of course those of the Williams team. The little blue line is actually rubber, and Oris says it acts like a bumper to protect the case (a bit). Though with the DLC coating, it shouldn't need as much protection. The case of course has the special hinged lugs that help the watch be really comfortable, and comfortable it most certainly is. My"new" Hamilton Masterpiece
Please click on images for big view.Gentlemen, this is my first Hamilton, a vintage Masterpiece automatic in 14k solid gold. After looking at it for a few days in the jewelry shop that belongs to an old friend, I decided it was too pristine to pass by, and negotiated a deal this morning. My calipers make it just under 34mm from 10 to 4, just over 35mm including crown, and 38.5mm from lug to lug (vertical). The Arabic numerals and indices appear to be gold also, and I suspect the dial will prove to be either silver or white gold. I don't think it "hacks," because when I pull out the stem, the second hand doesn't stop. I've only had it on my wrist for a couple of hours, but it is keeping right up with the Rolex I set it by. My friend said the 25-jewels indicate it is one of Hamilton's better movements. As you can see from the engraving on the back, the piece dates from approx. 1964. Can any of you Hammy guys provide more information?

Rado Ceramic questions
Hi from new member! Nice to find a place that appreciates quality watches.Have a Rado Ceramic, one of the first ones, and I wear it daily (which takes care of What's on Your Wrist Today - answer - the Rado, as usual).Except it isn't on my wrist just now . . . it stopped. Well, OK, second time in 15 years or so, I'm unhappy that it stopped, but I'm sure I'll live.Have a number of avenues to get it fixed, want to run them by some people who know more about this than I do before I make the decision.I'm out in rural Florida, Rado repair people are kind of thin on the ground here, but I did find a local jeweler/watchmaker who seems to know what he's doing and talks honestly.I also talked to someone "up nawth" who represents himself as a Rado expert - he was extremely disdainful of the local guy and advised me that I'd be a fool to let anyone else touch it - send $250 and I'll fix your watch. I asked him what he'd do for the $250 and how long it would take, and he said only "send $250 and I'

changing the face and hands?
I am an absolute noob, so please forgive any ignorance I may show. I am interested in changing the face and hands of a watch and would like to be point in the right direction with everything that entails, from where to buy a new face and hands, to how to actually open the watch and perform the labor. A bit long but an enjoyable read about the gorgeous 3120 movement. Could very well be a repost as it is from 2004.
