Hey all, Seeking a bit of advice on a safe bet second hand Patek model to put some money in. I've £20-30k that i'd like to put away and feel that putting it into a Patek can't be a bad idea financially and to boot will be something I can occasionally enjoy wearing. I've not owned a Patek before and am not well versed on them at present, I've had a number of Rolexes in the past, enjoyed them and beat inflation with them too which is always nice. Would now be nice to step up a gear and buy my first Patek. Any advice as to which model is showing good value right now and is likely to appreciate? Thanks.
New technology ALWAYS replaces old technology. Jet engines replaced piston engines. Auto transmissions replaced stick shifts. And cars replaced horses. It will be the same in watches. The new technology in watches allows light driven power systems to replace batteries, wind-ups and autos. And all at lower cost in many cases. And we now have watches where the time is adjusted by radio and/or satelite. The dominant watches of the future will be light driven and radio sdjusted. And everthing else will all be yesterday. But of course that may have no effect whatever on collecting. It may even make collecting all the more interesting. (:->)Art KramerWW II B-26 Bombardier
Thinking about adding one of these three as a true daily wearer to compliment a PP and 44 FC that I have. For the Black Themes and Diver the pricing is fairly close on the pre-owned market, both look good on a bracelet (already have one from previous 42mm AP pieces that I have since moved). The BLNR is completely different both in price and style, but is a contender as I tried one on at my AD recently and actually liked it. This one I would purchase new.And although I realize that this is the AP sub-forum, I value the thoughts of the members here. You have all cost my bank account dearly, but that's a different story Any thoughts on one over the others are appreciated?TIA !
