SIHH 2010 Preview: Lange 1 Daymatic
For 2010, A. Lange & S?hne introduces the Lange 1 Daymatic with a completely new 426-part self-winding movement. This is the first automatic member of the Lange 1 family. The Daymatic dial mirrors the Lange 1 and adds a retrograde day-of-the-week indication. For those who wear their watch on the left wrist, this layout moves the time indication to the right so it is seen first as the sleeve is drawn back. The Lange 1 Daymatic will be available in yellow and pink gold, and in platinum. The case is 39.5mm in diameter, about 1mm larger than the Lange 1. The dial is solid silver, and an English version will be available using MTWTFSS rather than the German MDMDFSS. The Daymatic is powered by calibre L021.1, developed from the ground up for this timepiece. The central winding rotor extends to the edge of the 31.6mm movement. The rotor is solid German silver embossed with the ¡°A. Lange & S?hne¡± signature. The rotor’s outer rim has an added platinum mass to increase winding effi

Celestial vs Planetarium
The Celestial, currently available as 6102P and 6102R, and the previously discontinued 5102G, is a watch like no other in the Patek Philippe line up. It shows the evening sky visible from Geneva, along with the orbit of the moon and the stars, including Sirius the brightest star system visible from earth. The 6102 adds the date function and is available in 44mm diameter. On the wrist, the watch is not too overbearing in size.A respected TRF member and Patek mega-collector, Conkers (Roger), describes and shares his experience with the 5102G in the following thread:.rolexforums/showthread.php?t=492432I recently was able to try on another poetic watch from the jewelry company, Van Cleef & Arpels.
