Blancpain 1185-1418-55 wrist watches news:
Last month in New York City, TAG Heuer celebrated the launch of their Carrera - Heuer 01 chronograph with a spectacular event featuring new brand ambassador Tom Brady. The Carrera - Heuer 01 is a milestone watch for TAG Heuer. Besides being a manufacture automatic chronograph at a very attractive price, it is a major product launch for the brand's new CEO, Jean-Claude Biver. Recently, HODINKEE caught up with TAG Heuer's Head of Products, Marc Walti, for a technical discussion about the movement in the Carrera - Heuer 01. 1 OF 5 2 OF 5 HODINKEE: How does the Calibre Heuer 01 differ from Calibre 1887? (Note: the TAG Heuer caliber 1887 is manufactured by TAG Heuer, and is derived from a basic design from Seiko Instruments, which uses a tilting pinion design – the latter having been invented by Edouard Heuer in 1887 as an alternative to the lateral clutch system.)TAG HEUER: The base movement for the new Calibre Heuer 01 is the Calibre 1887. g340 on shared on a few other forums his experience of removing his GMT-C watch at an airport security screening, only to find the ceramic bezel fell out. Fortunately, he found the insert, but could not press it back into the bezel ring (like one can with the older aluminum 16710 inserts).g340 indicated that he is going to take his watch to the RSC in New York and will post a follow up. These photos re-posted and touched up on g340's behalf and with permission.Larger images are posted at minus4plus6/photos/photo34.htm#ceramicHere's the watch and the bezel. The smudges are fingerprints. Here's the bezel insert. Here's the watch...Here's the underside of the bezel insert. Also, here is a simple schematic of how it is supposed to all fit. There are obviously differences in the diagram which seems conceptual rather than precise.Anyone else see/experience this???-Sheldon
Took a new pic of the current state of my collection last evening.1987 GMT, 2008 GMT and not sure about the Tudor though I did buy it last December.Replaced the original Tudor bracelet with a Rolex Oyster. I also brushed the top of the case to match the brushed bracelet, but left the sides polished. Looks about perfect now
I hadn't worn my AP Diver in a while and while setting it this morning I had a hard time turning the crown to adjust the date and time because the rubberized portion of the crown was hitting the brackets around the crown. Anyone else ever have this issue? Very strange!
Purchased my SMP300 Diver back in April. Finally got it wet last week in Boracay, Philippines!
