Breguet 3880ST/H2/SX0 wrist watches news:
In the photo above, you can see the bluish steel hands and bright points on the inner dial. The Sapphire date Magnifier is integrated with taste in the Crown area. The Crown does not tap valve when you wind you can only enable it. The bracelet is a beautiful worksheet, with threaded pins, in a very unique style. There are two screws, one on each side, and when remove you them, you push a PIN of the environment. The bracelet has this smooth, tight sensation in it reminds me of my Breitling Bracelets. The watch is polished, but the bracelet is brushed in the links of the environment. Here is a shot of the back, showing a little more of the bracelet and notice how the design of the Crown may even on the back of the watch. It is a very nice attention to detail.
Wedding anniversary is in 3 weeks, and my wife wants a Rolex. She has not indicated a style preference. The choices are confusing, especially used vs. new. On its surface, it seems like one can get better value buying used, but I have no idea who is a reputable source. If anyone can comment on that, even in just general advice terms, that would be helpful.I have my eye on a two-tone Ladies Oyster DateJust 69173 as a possibility. Might even splurge for one with diamond markers.I assume that I want one with genuine Rolex parts (no after-market face or bezel).Any advice about models, vintages, band types, etc. is appreciated.Jim
We have quite a few vintage collectors here at WTF. Let's call this a roll call of sorts. Of all of our members, how many of you like restoring a stray old watch and saving it from the scrap heap? Post a quick story and a picture of your favorite project watch if you wish!
Just picked up an AP Bands ROC conversion kit and strap from someone on TimeZone. Right now, I think I like the bracelet better but this look may grow on me. It does seem to wear a little bigger but it opens up a whole new set of strap options and colors. My nearest AD said that OEM AP straps are $800 and special order. It seems like a lot of money to buy without seeing or trying first.
A friend just bought one of their non-chronograph COSC cert'd watches. Good looking I might add. Here's the issue, he says it's stopping on him all the time. I asked him if you wears it regularly. He claims to. A brief look at their website seems to show similar watches have about a 42 hr power reserve. These babies have power reserve issues?I told him to give it a good 40 turns Friday am, wear it all day and see how long it takes to stop over the weekend. He seems to think it defective, but I think it's too early to reach that conclusion. Any thoughts?
