Hands-On with the Padron Selby
A couple of years ago, we put a piece together about Padron Watch Company, a one-man show out of Minneapolis. Leo Padron, said one-man, welcomed us into his watch making studio, where he designs and assembles his line of affordable and unique watches (yes, he's a watch maker). It's worth a read to learn a bit more about the man and his brand. At the time, he was just finishing up a successful Kickstarter campaign for his Tessera timepieces, one of several such projects. Now, he is currently at the end of yet another successful campaign for an update to the Tessera, named the Selby.What caught my about this watch, all of Padron's watches for that matter, was that it's totally his own vision. His watches are unique and almost bizarre, and while not for everyone, have an undeniable charm. How do these prices sound?
Ok, so I went to my local AD and tried on a Milgauss and a Submariner (which I mentioned in an earlier thread). The prices were $6400 for the Milgauss with the green crystal and $6200 for the Submariner 50th Anniversary edition.I'm not really sure how good of an indicator google shopping is, so I thought I'd ask the pros, do these sound like food prices?

Hi there!Recently I wanted to check my Ingy accuracy, and it turned out that compared to the usual +4 secs/day now it runs at -1/-2 secs/day.Could it be related to the bad winter that now we have here in Milan, Italy?Somewhere around I read that the cold tend to give the watch speed instead of slowing it down, and viceversa for high temperature.Have I to worry about?Thanks!

Ref 9-90 an icon
The ref 9-90- is in my opinion one of the most beautiful in house movements made by PP in the ¡°golden Age¡± of watch making. Beautifully engineered the rectangular movement made between the late 1930¡¯s and mid 1950¡¯s was clothed by the most spectacular rectangular cases. With inspirations from both the art deco and the art nouveau period these pieces have never been bettered in terms of design- often copied by re-editions such as the Pagoda (ref 5500) and 10 day ( ref 5100).The movement is a rectangular work of art measuring 18 X 25.6 mm. It was released in 2 batches. Movement numbers 830 000 ¨C 839 999 between 1934 and 1950 whilst the movement numbers of 970 00 ¨C 977 889 between 1947 and 1967. ( yes that late!)This makes a total of 17 888 movements made, however not all of them were used ¨C witness the latest release from PP the 5105 to celebrate the opening of the new PP boutique in Geneva. A few movements just happened to be found for the release of this platinum masterpiece. Who know
