A. Lange & S?hne has revealed the first of its new timepieces to be launched at January’s SIHH watch fair in Geneva: the Grand Lange 1 Lumen. A limited edition of 100 pieces, the watch features two firsts for the German luxury brand: a luminous outsize date and a partially transparent dial.The watch comes in a platinum case and has a dial with sections made of semi-transparent sapphire crystal; only the outer ring and the surfaces of the subdials (one for hours and minutes, the other for small seconds) are made of blackened silver. Apologies that a Hamilton owner is sullying your forum, but I figure you'd tolerate me for this:On the Thursday 12/19/08 edition of the US version of the Jeopardy! gameshow, there was a clue involving Patek Philippe. I'm sorry I don't have all the details, as I was only half-watching as I was running on a treadmill at my gym.The category was something like "Santa's Coming" or "Presents I Want" and the clue was along the lines of requesting a Patek Philippe [certain model], which is a type of this. The contestant correctly answered "What is a watch?"I hope some of you got to see this and can bring better detail.Happy Holidays and hope you get your model(s) as holiday presents.

Minute Repeaters....
I've always been completely intrigued by a super-high quality minute repeater. A 'good' one will have a purely musical tone to the chimes. I've seem the Patek's 5 models, but see they are not listed in the latest price list. Knowing these apex's of mechanical watchmaking are the definition of a ultra-luxury watch and something I'm likely never going to be able to afford, I'm still very curious to know the prices. Anyone know the prices of the 5078, 3939, 5013, 5033 & 5016?Personally my favorite model is the 5013R. Minute repeater, perpetual calendar & moon-phase all wrapped up in a rose gold case. Oh, and if anyone has any pictures of these models, let's see 'em!

5110 or 5130 -- Please help, what's your favourite and why?
newbie question striking again....I've seen that price difference for 5110 compared to 5130 are quite substantial.Is it explained for the bigger case, mostly? Newer model with little differences?or is it there more I could not figure out so far? I do appreciate this watch, on my humble opinion the epitome of GMT conceptGiven that one is 37mm and the other almost 40mm, how this difference in size look on your wrist?I'm asking so many question, sorry , but for a good cause -- I'd very much like to get one in near future, but my watches are basically 40mm and bigger...so my doubt.
