Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. ?Today, we're talking with Bill Yao, the man behind the independent watch brand MK II.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Bill Yao (BY): I am the owner and founder of Mk II Watches.ABTW: What were your first grail watches?BY: I have two that were acquired in rapid succession. The Omega Speedmaster Pro Moonwatch and the Zenith El Primero "TV screen" Chronograph.ABTW: Was there ever a time in your life when you could afford either of them?BY: I ended up buying the Omega about 2-3 years after I started working in New York. I could barely afford it, and, at the time, I actually had to spread the purchase across two credit cards. The Zenith was purchased less than a year later.I bought the Omega, naturally, because it was the first watch worn on the moon.
Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting the Roger Dubuis manufacture outside of Geneva and had the double pleasure of meeting Mr. Dubuis himself. After touring the manufacture and learning of the rigorous processes behind the Poinçon de Genève standard, we were led into a large conference room with a sweeping view of Mont Blanc and the not-yet-completed Richemont Campus Genevois de Haute Horology. When Dubuis entered the room – situated quite literally at the crux of the old guard and future of the industry – one of the key things on my mind was what was on his wrist that day. 2 OF 4 The 37mm case sits elegantly on the wrist. The Roger Dubuis Sympathie Bi-Retrograde Perpetual Calendar Moonphase was introduced around 1995-1996. The 37mm stylized cushion-shaped gold case appears baroque, but not in an offensive way. On the off-white dial, the real features of the watch stand out: a minimal moon-phase complication at 6 o’clock with a s
I recently picked one up for like $7. It's an automatic with an open heart, moon phase and a 24 hour counter and a second hand just above the open heart. A nicely stiched leather band with a good waight. Keeps perfect time.Does anybody own one of these watches?

Hello All,I'm looking to pair my Steinhart O2 with yet another mesh bracelet. First, I paired it with a WJean mesh and although it worked well for what it was - I was looking for a thicker mesh with a bit higher quality .Second, I purchased a 3.5mm Staib mesh. Very nice quality but it lacked micro adjustments, something I look for in my straps.Third, I purchased a 4.5mm Staib "Monster" mesh. Good quality and nice fit but too heavy. Returned immediately.I'm reaching out to you guys in hopes of finding the right mesh strap to pair my O2 with. Below are two lists detailing what I would like in the strap and what I would not like. Any and all help appreciated! What I would LIKE:- Needs to be 3.5mm thick or very close- Needs to have micro adjustments- Endlinks need to be the solid bar type and not the open bar mesh.- Brushed finish- No more than $110What I would NOT like:- Flip lock clasp- Open endlinks- Polished finish
