Breitling 81950 wrist watches news:
Is it?Also is it safe to shake the watch? (Say I was opening a bag, shaking it to get air in?)Hamilton Khaki King AutomaticHappy new year everyone!Edit: (Some more photos)]
I was just introducing myself as a n00b to PAM couple of threads below while I was still deciding between PAM98 & PAM184. Ultimately, the decision was just made and I am happy that I will be buying LNIB 98 from a fellow watch collector. Interesting part is, that we know each other for a quite a while from several other watch sites, and it feels that we know each other for a while....and now finally, we crossed our paths this way. What a perfect way to buy a watch from a fellow watch enthusiast !;)Here is the beauty (not my pictures yet)....It will be here on THU and I cannot wait !!! Also, BIG THANKS to Viken - India Whiskey Charlie for essentially finding this watch for meand connecting me with a super nice seller !!
I heard a knock at the door and I knew what it was. The postman bringing me my latest acquisition. I had been eyeing an Edouard Lauzieres, Eldiamante since I saw Tom Cary's photo of one. And now I have one. I did a very quick shoot at a couple angles with the point and shoot. Look for a review (with more pictures) on this watch in the coming week or two. I need to give it time to break in and I have some family matters I will be attending to this week. But, out of the box it is awesome. Fit and finish is five star and it wears very well on my wrist. The black diamonds are a real nice touch. It gives the watch a lot of class without being bling.
I found this site while in China recently. Many of you might have visited it already. It has many cool features fwiw.wwp.greenwichmeantime/
I got the parts list from Jocke's SM300 project, Rikki was kind enough to put it all together for me and did a full service on the movement. I know there are some who feel this is a franken-watch and I'm not going to debate that. If you take a movement from one watch and put it in the case of another, then it really isn't original or even original with replacement parts, it's an amalgamation. So I can't really call this an NOS Seamaster, it's a wanna-be, but it's my wanna be.Didn't want to pay the watchco prices, didn't want to buy a watch I knew nothing about from ebay or watchuseek. Instead I borrowed Jocke's blue print, bought the parts from Otto Frei, and Rikki was kind enough to pull the movement from a vintage Geneva, service it and put it into a brand new 166.0234 replacement case. Here are some before picture:
