Breitling Chrono Avenger in Titan/Titan von 2001

Hamilton Military watches from late 60's--70's
I have noticed that a number of black-dial Hamiltons with movement calibers of 649 and 987A and 987S are currently available on eBay. I would like to pick one of these up, and I wondered if there are any glaring bugaboos that Hamilton collectors look for in acquiring these pieces.I know that from 1969-1973 Hamilton was in a "joint venture" with Buren and I think they used the same ebauche frequently (always?). (BTW, I am not referring to any quartz movements.) My thinking is that the quality attitudes of Hamilton were still in place during their association with Buren, and such a watch might be a good acquisition (not for re-selling in the near future).Also, I know that the British Army picked up a few of these, with the prefix W-10 to all the numbers on the caseback. Was it the same watch at the ones sold to the British Army by CWC? (Monobloc case, movement accessed through the front by removing the crystal first, hooded lugs, tonneau case shape.)I"m not looking for detailed advice, j

Horrible day
This is a really black day, after 5+ months ownership my 5712-1A has a scratch on the 2nd link near the clasp, can't take a pic as you can only see it under a certain light, I am in shock Ok of course I am joking, well it does have a micro scratch, only one which is not bad after 5 months and 30-40% wrist time, I decided to post this since someone posted not long ago that he wanted one but was too afraid of the scratch factor, it's watches, they will be scratched but by being a little careful it will be minimum, when I say the 1st in 5 months it's true, so I think it's really not bad as I am very careful but not paranoid.Buy watches, yes even RO's and Nautiluses, I don't think that should stop anyone from buying

Frequency of tropical dials, ghost bezels, and spider dials
hello,i'm interested if anyone knows of any numbers around how often rolex dials go tropical or spider, as well as how often a bezel on a sub goes ghost? i know there are a lot of factors here, however i'm curious to know if there's some established facts or information around how often these aging phenomenons occur? or if there are other known aging styles you know about, particularly those that do not affect the function of the piece.
