Breitling HB014012A722 wrist watches news:
One year ago today, the world of horology lost its greatest designer - Gerald Genta.? Responsible for more iconic designs than any other man in the history of timepieces, his trademark aesthetics are ingrained in countless watches we see, and speak of every single day.In an incredibly detailed and revealing interview just published via Greek watch blog VeryImportantWatches, Mr. Genta opens up about his earliest days - when he was getting paid 15 CHF to sell designs to American brands and Swiss suppliers - to how he designed the Royal Oak in a single night.? He mentions many of his less well-known work, like that of his Cellini for Rolex, a limited edition Seiko, oh, and a digital watch for Timex that was made in a very limited run of just 30,000,000 watches.? The article is not available online, so you must download a PDF.? This is an article you need to read if you have an interest in 20th century watches, design, or Genta himself.? Hey there, just became a member of the forum there n thought i should say hi Im a 22 year old Irish guy studyin Horology in Birmigham (eNGLAND )At the minute we have only been learning the basics though, but im very interested in the subject so im enjoying it a lot!Seen an ad in the local Freecycle here last week and went to pick up some horology tools and watches and clocks from a nice old guy who is moving house. What a find! Lots of WW1 tools and clocks and watches, i was over the moon. I have been trying to identify some of the watches, but im not really sure how to go about it The one that i can think of at the minute is a gold (halmarked) Tissot watch. It says Q on the face above Tissot, and it has a a day and date window at the side. Can anybody shed some light on this? i would be grateful of any info on any of themok, so these are some of the watches that i have aqquired.. Sorry that the pic quality isnt fantastic..Second up then -Tissot seastar sevenNext - Smiths Astral - 17 jew
Guys help me out here. Already have an APROO Diver but really am interested in one of the 44MM models. I really like the flat pushers and wouldn't mind ceramic bezel to minimize the damages from desk dives. What are the pros and cons between the Steel, Forged Carbon, and Ceramic version?
Greetings TRF,I have never posted a thread in this section before so I thought I would do it today to share with you my first experience with Audemars Piguet and one of their AD's. As some of you may know AP only has one dealer in Montreal, La Swiss on Ste-Catherine Boulevard (which is in downtown Montreal). I went there the other day with my girlfriend.First of all, allow me to talk to you a bit about the staff. Upon entering in the store we were greeted by a young lady who politely asked us if we needed help. Since it was my first time I told her I was just looking around and she told us to take our time before letting us take a look at the watches. A few minutes after a man came to us and after talking to him a little bit I asked him if I could try one on, he then invited us to a small desk and took the gloves out to let us take a look at some models. Overall the staff was very, very polite and kind, the man that helped me while I was there didn't seem to be your ordinary salesman,
