Breitling IB011012/q567-1rd wrist watches news:
It's always fun to find a brand you've never heard of, though for us, it happens less and less these days. So, when I stumbled upon Ancon watches a few weeks ago, I was extremely excited. A quick glance revealed over-sized, over-built tool watches with looks akin to war machines, not your average desk diver. A deeper inspection revealed that the watches were a mix of familiar elements, well-tuned colors and interesting detailing that when combined created watches that were simultaneously charming and fierce. Like an antique weapon, there is something sculptural and entrancing about them, but underneath, the aggressive intentions are still apparent. The inspiration for the watches is the USS Ancon AGC-4, which was a modified commercial passenger-cargo ship meant for carrying troops that saw a lot of use in WWII. The watches themselves, of which there are 3 distinct models and many variations currently available, are a strange mix of huge modern cases with classic dials. Those who are fam
Hey guys ! ! !I've been quite busy for the past several days working on the watches that I bought at the NAWCC Valpo Show.(All of these are from the show except one)The restorations turned out great!I'll be done with a few more by the end of the week probably.1918 Waltham, Fahys Sterling Silver "Cushion" Trench w/ an Integrated Shrapnel Guard, BIG size 0s version, 7 jewels BOLD Roman Numeral Enamel Dial.1918 Ingersoll Midget Radiolite, Pocket Watch to Wrist Watch Conversion due to the Glagovsky Shrapnel Guard made specifically for the watch, size 6s, has a paper dial.1916 Elgin, Wadsworth 10k Gold Filled Trench Case, BIG size 0s, 7 jewels, black enamel dial, original lum.1918 Elgin, Wadsworth Sterling Silver Trench Case, Offset Crown, 16mm lugs, 15 jewels, size 3/0s, enamel RED 12 dial.1916 Elgin, Wadsworth Sterling Silver Trench Case, Offset Crown, 16mm lugs, 7 jewels, BIG size 0s, BOLD Arabic enamel dial.1895 Elgin Transition, 10k Gold Filled Star Case, BIG Size 0s, 16 jewels, superb
Day before yesterday, when putting my sport shirt back on from a swim in the pool, my Hammy chrono fell out of my pocket and onto a concrete floor...one of the sub-second hands fell off, the dial was slightly displaced, and it would not run...I dropped it off at a local watchmaker's yesterday...possibly not an expensive repair he says...I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!
I finally found a Like New example of the 5140p-001 (blue dial). I looked for one for about 7 months, and I recently saw a very imperfect example in person. I passed. Having never bought a pre-loved watch before, I needed it as close to perfect as possible. I found it. This must have sat in a safe for most of its life. I am over the moon. I feel very fortunate. I've wanted a platinum Patek and I love the 240 movement. I am done...for a long time! Thanks for looking!
Another poll question for my friends in TRF. I currently own a 5726-1a slate dial which I was contemplating to sell however things have changed and I have decided to hold onto it. I want to add another Patek and have looked at other models but other than a Nautilus nothing has catched my eye. I was thinking of adding another 5726a on a strap but having second thoughts of having identical watches. The other choices in mind is a 5712-1a or 5980-1a Black Dial. I like the white 5711 but not as much as the other two. Out of these 3 what do you recommend? and why? I appreciate all of your inputs!
